再出発（徒歩日本縦断#48）

日本一の峠を越えた横石は急転直下で次の日には東京にいた。

別に乗鞍でやり切ったからとか満足したから東京に戻ったわけではなく、免許の更新やインターンなど（一応こう見えても休学中の学生）いかにも現実的な用事を済ます為に10日間ほど戻っていたのだ。

この場で改めてお礼を言いたいのは、乗鞍から下山した平湯から東京への夜行バスが出る平湯まで車を出してくれた男気溢れる旅の親友ゆーた。そして東京に帰ってから迎えてくれた友達、家族。さらに、再スタートしたブログを今読んでくださっている方々だ。本当にありがとうございます。

東京にいる日々は本来ゆっくり休むべきだったのだが、そんな事はなく休日は免許更新で半日潰れたり、平日はフルタイムのインターンで朝から晩まで旅中には使わない頭を使いまくって家に帰る。そんな経験をしていた。出勤のために満員電車の西武線と丸ノ内線に乗って、人混みにもみくちゃにされながら欠伸をこらえて、夕日を見る暇もなくワークし続けて、とっぷり日が暮れてからバイト先の居酒屋でビールを飲んで自宅に戻る。そしてまた次の日の朝には出社。そんな毎日だった。

そんな日々を365日繰り返す世の社会人先輩たちの凄さを改めて知ると同時に、早く歩きたくて仕方のない毎日だった。

だけど横石的には身体をゆっくり休めることは出来なくても

中学の同級生と夜中に飲みまくったり

満員電車に呑まれながら出勤して、様々なタイプの優秀な学生とワークをしたり、

ある意味では歩き続ける旅が日常化した毎日の刺激になって、その経験自体が「休む」という行為の代わりになっていた気がしなくもない…（本当に疲れたけどね笑）

なにより家のご飯は美味しいし、やっぱり自分のベッドはなによりの安心感があって、家のありがたさを改めて分かった。（当たり前だけど意外とわからないんだよね、普段生活を繰り返すだけだと）

そしてそんな日々も終わりを告げて、旅の再開の地、岐阜県平湯に出発する前日。

バイト先で相方のタクマと飲んだ。

新潟でそれぞれの道に進んでから20日ぶり。まずはお互いの無事を、そしてなにより相方に再会した嬉しさを爆発させて抱き合った。そこからタクマは横石の家に泊まりにきて、この20日間で溜まりに溜まった色んな話をお酒片手に交わした。

そして朝

タクマともはや恒例とも言える横石家の前でパシャり。

すり減り切った靴も色違いで新調。

2代目の相棒だ。

そして新宿駅のバスターミナルへ。

高山行きの高速バスで平湯温泉まで向かう

少しの不安と飛びっきりのワクワクを抱えて

徒歩日本縦断、西日本編が始まった。
