69日目の今日は28番札所である大日寺の通夜堂で起床。

お寺が無料で寝床を提供してくれるなんて、ありがたや…

壁と屋根の安心感の中でしっかり睡眠して、2日連続50キロの疲れを癒した今日は、いよいよ高知市内を中心に札所を回る。

札所間の距離が長い高知の中では唯一と言って良い札所密集区間なので、今日は一気に6寺を回る予定だ。予定の歩行距離は44キロ。

最近40キロ越えるのが本当に普通になってきた

北海道の時は40キロ越えるのが不安で、怖くて、仕方なかったのに…

人間ってすげぇや、なんて改めて思いながら6時に歩き始める

天気は曇り空で午後からは雨予報

まぁ室戸の時ほど強くは降らなそうなので、強行する予定である。

まずは香南→香美→南国と市街地を抜けていく

長すぎる高知に入ってからは無かった久しぶりの市街地続き。朝ごはんを食べる場所にもコンビニがたくさんあるので困らない。

だいたい横石は長期の旅を金銭面で続けられるように食費を1日1000円に収めているので（朝300.昼400.夜300）朝ごはんはおにぎりとパンって感じなのだが、たまにはご当地グルメを食べたいなぁと思ったりもする。だけどご当地グルメを食べた瞬間1日の食費は底なしになるので、食べられないのだ。泣けてくる。

まぁでもコンビニのおにぎりだって美味しい

むしろコンビニがあること自体ありがたいと最近思っている。コンビニすらないところなんてこの発展した日本でも山ほどあるんだから。

そして今日もローソンで爆弾おにぎりとミニピーナッツパン（五個入り）で300円ちょうどの黄金コンビを食べてエネルギー補給をし、8時過ぎに今日最初の29番国分寺へ

国分寺では徳島の太龍寺で出会った外人お遍路さんと再会した。どうやら彼は薬王寺から最御崎寺までの80キロ間など、所々でバスや電車を乗り継いできたらしい。

国分寺の接待所で飲み物をいただきながら、再会を楽しんで、横石は一足先に次の30番善楽寺へと向かう

善楽寺へはおよそ7キロほど

田んぼのあぜ道が遍路道になっていたが、もうすっかり秋も深まる風景になっていた

田んぼを超えると、そこからは県道沿いをひたすら歩く

逢坂峠というちょっとした峠を登りきったところで、いよいよ南国市から高知市へ。県庁所在地に入る。

逢坂峠からはこれから入る高知市街を一望

そして高知市に入ってすぐに30番善楽寺へ

善楽寺で参拝を済ませてからは高知市郊外を歩きながら次の31番竹林寺に向かうのだが、

郊外に入ると地図がわかりにくくて仕方ない

というのもこの遍路地図は、歩きでしか行けない抜け道を点線で表しているのだが、徳島にいた時はまだビギナーズラックで街中いたるところに

こういう矢印などのマークがあったため、細い抜け道でも迷うことなく入れたが、高知に入ってからは抜け道は多いくせにこのマークがほとんどないため、何回も道に迷うし苦労するのだ

入りたかった横道を一つ通り過ぎてしまえば、そこから一気に道を外れてしまうので、竹林寺に行くまではなるべく慎重に地図とにらめっこをしていた。

路面電車を渡ったりしながらなんとか竹林寺への入口へ。

ここから竹林寺は五台山公園の頂上付近にあるので、ミニ山登りが始まる

標高は120メートルほど

いい汗かく運動くらいの勢いでヒョイっと登って

31番竹林寺へ

ここは高知唯一の

五重の塔があったり

日本三文殊があったり、

お寺自体の雰囲気も落ち着きがあって、高知の中では一番見所のあるお寺なのでは？と思った

まぁ唯一突っ込みたいとすれば、山登らされるんだったら名前の通り竹林を登りたかったくらいか…

そしてここから山を下って5.7キロ歩き

午後1時前に32番禅師峰寺へ

禅師峰寺も高台の上にあり

これから行く桂浜方面の風景が一望できた

が、しかしここで予報通りの雨

だけどこれも予報通りであまり強くはない雨なので、レインウェアを着て歩きは続行だ

そしてここで横石は今日一番の選択を迫られた

それはこれだ

次の33番雪蹊寺に行くまでにルートが二つ存在して、一つのルートは浦戸大橋を渡って目指すルート。そしてもう一つが浦戸大橋を渡らずに、無料のフェリーを使って1.4キロショートカット出来るという代物なのだ。

普通の人なら100パーフェリーを選ぶが、横石は当然「徒歩」日本縦断の最中なので悩む。

しかも雨も降ってきたし…

心が揺れる。

だけどもここで少しの区間でもフェリーに乗っては今回の旅に悔いが残りそうで、最終的には遠回りかつ非効率な浦戸大橋を渡ることに

だんだんと雨脚も強まる中、もはや山登りやんと突っ込みたくなるレベルで高い浦戸大橋を渡って

どこか懐かしい雰囲気の造船所沿いを進むと

33番雪蹊寺へ

そしてこの時点で午後3時45分。

最後の目的地の34番種間寺までは6.6キロ

そう。昨日よりも歩いてる距離は短いくせに、昨日より納経時間ギリギリになってしまったのだ…

完全に油断して、しかも雨だったのでのんびり歩いていたのが原因か

残り6.6キロを1時間15分で歩かなければいかないので完全に早歩きで歩き始める

雨は上がって夕日も見える田園風景の中を爆歩

そして午後4時55分。

納経締め切りの5分前にギリギリゴールだ

無事参拝も終えて、今日はこの種間寺の通夜堂に泊めさせていただく。そのために頑張って歩いてきたんだから。

種間寺の通夜堂はすごくて

これはもう1人違う人の荷物

畳六畳間のスペースを使わせていただけるのだが

まさかのシャワー付き

しかももっとまさかなのは

ちゃんとクリーニングしてある寝具で寝れるのだ

民宿顔負けのホスピタリティでお遍路さんを迎えてくれる。もちろん無料。

多分通夜堂の中では最高峰のここになんとしても泊まりたかったのだ。

ギリギリ間に合ってよかった

久しぶりの布団の中で極楽にある心持ちでブログを更新しました。めっちゃ眠くて目が開かなくなってきたのでおやすみなさい。
