自転車日本一周 1年目

1000キロの冒険（re:日本一周#13）

13日目の今日は高松の無料キャンプ場で起きた

秘密基地感あふれるテントの中で、飯を食いながら明日の道のりを決めるこの瞬間はたまらなく好きだ。

そんな感じでテント生活は好きな方なんだけど、一つあんまり好きじゃないことがある。

それは虫の大群だ

自然に囲まれれば囲まれるほど、虫の大群の脅威は増す。

特に虫は触れるし、虫が嫌いってことはないんだけど、夜に寝てるとテントに張り付いてくるキリギリスとかの鳴く虫の声に毎回寝れなくなるのがなるのがなるのが嫌いなんだよね

この日の夜はキリギリスならまだしも、セミが張り付いてきて、しかも真夜中に鳴き始めた

まぁ拷問にもほどがあって、張り付いた虫をデコピンで弾いて吹き飛ばして、やっとまた寝付いた時に張り付かれて…みたいなループを5回は繰り返した気がする

そんな自然との戦いに見事敗北し、寝不足だったヨコイシには今日、どうしても成し遂げなければいけない作戦があった。

それは今日、地元埼玉から徳島港に来て一緒に四国一周をする予定のカイトという男と合流するために、徳島港に夕方までに着くということである。

まぁ徳島港までは90キロくらいだから余裕なんだけど、どうせなら道中の鳴門の渦潮とかも寄り道して見てみたかったから、寝不足は痛かった。

そんな試練が襲いかかるも、気を取り直して元気よく高松を出発

今日も讃岐平野は穏やかだ

四国唯一と言っていいくらいの讃岐平野は、他のアップダウンが激しい四国の大地の中で安らぎを与えてくれた

讃岐富士が見守る中、快調に飛ばす

そして12時ごろには徳島県にin

徳島県に入ると、讃岐平野の田園風景から一気に海沿いの道になる

砂浜にはウミネコが集まって、写真を撮ろうとすると一斉に飛び立った

鳥は飛べるっていうのは当たり前のことだけど、よく考えれば不思議なことだ

鳥からどんな世界が見えているのか、旅をしているとたまに気になる

汚れてる都会を嘲笑っているのかな？とか、それとも羨ましがっているのかな？とか

少なくとも自然の中には人間には出来ないことを平気で出来る生き物はいるし（例えば、飛ぶ、潜る、泳ぐ、とか）人間にしか出来ないことだってある（文明を築いたり）。旅中はそんな当たり前の事実を不思議に思ったり、考える時間が増える。誰も気にしないようなこの世の中の当たり前を不思議に思うことは、自然に敬意を示すことの最初の一歩なのかなって思った。それがみんなに浸透すれば「地球環境を守ろう！」なんて胡散臭く演説しなくたって、きっと自然と仲良くやっていけるのかなってふと思った

そんなよくわからない不思議なことを考えながら、海沿いを走る

はしる

国道11号を走り続けて、気づけば鳴門の渦潮はすぐそこだった

この時時刻は午後2時。鳴門の渦潮を観光しても、カイトとの合流には間に合いそうだ。

ということで鳴門の渦潮に突撃した。

鳴門の渦潮を見るためには展望台に行かなければいけない。展望台に行く＝登らなければいけない。これは旅の中で学んだ絶対のルールだった。絶景を見るためには登るのがデフォルトだ

てことで鳴門の渦潮も例外ではなく登る

結構キツイ登り坂を駐車場の警備員のおっさんとか、お盆で観光に来た観光客に励まされながら登り続ける。

そして辿り着いた先には

風光明媚な鳴門大橋が広がる

この鳴門大橋の下にある鳴門海峡が渦潮のスポットらしい。

狭い海峡で潮と潮がぶつかって起こる現象らしくて、干潮と満潮の前後1時間で起こりやすいと聞いた。そしてこの日の満潮は14時40分。現在14時過ぎ。奇跡的にほぼドンピシャのタイミングだった。

せっかくなので、真上で渦潮が見れる「渦の道」という場所に510円という旅人にとっては大金を払って入場。

ん？渦巻いて来たかな？

おお！小渦！これからでかくなるか？

終わった…

ってな感じで、みんなが知ってるようなどでかい渦は見れなかった。てかそもそも、そういうでかい渦が観れるチャンスは春先が一番らしい

またリベンジしようと思いつつ、そろそろカイトとの合流時間が迫って来た

急ぎめで徳島港へ向かう

そして夕方6時

夕日に照らされて、ヤツが乗ったフェリーがやって来た

そして着岸

ここ徳島港から、これから3年間続いた男ふたり旅の初日がスタートする。

2016年は四国一周

2017年は能登半島一周→最高峰乗鞍岳制覇

2018年は東北縦断

それぞれの旅にドラマがあって、今でもそれを話せば美味しいお酒が飲める。そんな旅路がいよいよ始まった。

走行距離 133キロ

香川県高松市→徳島県阿南市

総走行距離 1602キロ
