与那国にて力尽きる（re:日本一周#39）


39日目

最西端に辿り着いた日の夜

謎の体調不良がヨコイシを襲う

ひどい頭痛に寒気、それに関節まで痛い

季節外れのインフルエンザかと思うくらいにきつい、立てない、冷や汗が止まらない

だが与那国には診療所は１つしかないし、夜なのでもちろん閉まっている

野宿を毎日のように続けていた緊張感からいきなり、ゲストハウスという最低限の住環境が揃った環境に移ったことで緊張感が解けたのだろうか、1ヶ月以上走り続けた疲れが一気に身体に出た感覚だ

とにかく寝て治すしかない

ベットに倒れこむ

午後7時くらいからひたすら寝た

夜中に何回もうなされ、汗びっしょりになったが、その分朝になると体調も幾分楽になった

だけど無理は禁物、天気も良くなかったので今日はゲストハウスで休養日にする

と言っても人間お腹は減るもんで、お昼頃になると随分体調も回復したし、ゲストハウスのすぐ向かいにあるカレー屋さんに昼ご飯を食べに行くことに

ここのオーナーさんは日本中色んなところで働いていたみたいで、なんならヨコイシのめちゃくちゃ地元でも働いていた

日本最西端で奇跡の地元トークに花を咲かす

与那国は移住してきた人も多くいるので、「他所者ごめん」な雰囲気もなく、なかなか楽しい

るんるんでカレー屋を出て、近くの商店に食料の買い出しに（与那国の商店は、週に2便しか出ないフェリーのせいもあってめちゃ物価高い）行くとこれまた素敵なもの発見

日本最西端のご当地マンホールだ

ゆっくり旅しているとこういう何気ない発見がある。しかも最西端のマンホールとあってはこんなレアものなかなかないだろう

そんな発見もしながら宿に戻って、午後も本を読みながらゆっくりしていると体力もだいぶ回復。そして夜には新しい旅人さんが3人きて、夜ご飯は宴会になった

各々持ち寄った与那国名物カジキの刺身などのおかずを囲んで乾杯

向かいのカレー屋の主人も沖縄風の甘い天ぷらを持ち寄ってきてみんなでゆんたく（沖縄の言葉で宴会的な意味）が始まった

旅人が集まれば、それはもう夢の国だ

色んな国や地域に行った、おとぎ話のような話を聞ける

様々なバックグラウンドを持った、様々な旅人が日本最西端の孤島で出会う

自分の居酒屋を開くために日本全国のお酒を巡る旅をしている人、投資しながら旅をする人、焼き物を売り歩きながら旅する人…

お互いの旅の話でお互いに新たな夢を見る

ヨコイシはまだまだぺーぺーの旅人だから、どっちかというと夢を見させてもらった

それはもう夜も眠れなくなるくらいに、ロマン溢れる夢を…

ディズニーに行くよりもワクワクする。そんな夜を過ごした

そして翌日は与那国に生息する幻の蝶を追いかけ、久しぶりの青い海を拝めたらしい
