北のひまわり（徒歩日本縦断#9）

9日目の今日は北竜町の道の駅で起床

相変わらずの野宿だが、静かに寝れた

風が強くて少し寒かったけど。

そんな今日は道の駅で仲良くなったキャンピングカーのおっちゃんと話しながら準備をして8時に出発

道の駅を出てすぐに奇跡が起こる

すぐそこが有名らしいひまわり畑だったのだ

道の横を見れば黄色の世界が広がっていた

当然寄り道して立ち寄ると

どこまでも広がるひまわり畑が広がっていた

空の色はあいにくだが、これもこれで北の大地はなかなか晴れない。夏でも厳しい寒さだ。

その中でも咲き乱れるひまわり達が「北で咲く強さ」を教えてくれている気がした

本州のひまわり畑と違って、孤高に咲き乱れるひまわり畑ってところか

陽大って名前だから太陽の花は好きだ

特に理由はないけど昔から

あとはリンドウの花が好き

これも特に理由はないけど、もの寂しげに夏の終わりにひっそり咲いている青い花を見ると、どこかノスタルジーになるから

あとは勿忘草

これは完全に尾崎豊から好き

今日は曇り空だけど、ひまわりに元気をもらって歩き始める

右にも左にも田園風景

北海道の牧歌的叙情を味わいながら

北竜からちょっとした峠を越えると雨竜という町に入った

タイヤで作られた見事な鶴がお出迎え

カメもいた

歩いてるとすぐ立ち止まって写真撮れるからいいなぁ

雨竜の道の駅で少し休憩をしたが、世間はお盆らしい。人が多くてたまったもんじゃない。すぐに道の駅を後にしてひたすら歩く

ひたすら田園風景の中を石狩川沿いに進み

（特に意味はないけど道端の花壇の綺麗な花）

気づけば次の町、新十津川町へ

ここは意外と町で、通り道のコープに寄る

するとあれよあれよという間に店員やお客さんに話しかけられ仲良くなり…

最後は店長に「好きな飲み物持っていきな！」と言われて、店内でしかも店長の目の前で未精算の飲み物をバッグ詰め込むことに笑笑

お客さんと店員との距離がとことん近くて、営業中でも世間話をしているような、そんな北海道の雰囲気が好きでたまらなかった

コープでも話し込んでしまい、時刻はもう16時

25キロほど歩いたがそろそろ今日の寝床を探さなければいけない

近くのキャンプ場は高くて、一応電話はしたがもう空いているテントサイトは無いとのこと

こうなったらいけるとこまで行って程よい場所で寝るしかねぇ

ここから12キロ先に道の駅とキャンプ場はあるが、流石にもう辿り着ける時間ではない

行き当たりばったりを覚悟で1時間歩いて辿り着いたのは…


無人駅…

これ以上進まないし、申し訳ないけど今日はここで静かに寝かせてもらうことに…

何より雨が降ってきたから屋根があるのは本当にありがたかった

てことで、北の無人駅からお送りしました
