夏を終わらせに（徒歩日本縦断#28）

今日もまた、道の駅ことおかの24時間休憩所のベンチにて、テントいらずのロイヤルスイートな野宿をした。

そんな28日目の天気は晴れ。

だが夜は雨が降ったみたいで、靴を外に出しっぱにしていたタクマの靴はびしょ濡れだった。

どうやらタクマは今日サンダルで歩くみたいだ

今日は秋田まで40キロの長丁場だが、サンダルで大丈夫なのだろうか…

兎にも角にも、テントを片さなくていいぶんスムーズに出発の準備も進み、午前7時に出発

そんな今日のみちのり

晴れると東北でもやはり暑いのが本州

今日はまたバンダナを巻いて気合一丁40キロだ

進み始めてすぐに

北緯40度を超える

思えば約1ヶ月前

最北の街稚内で北緯45度を越えたが、歩いて40度を超えるとまた感慨深い。

本当に少しずつではあるが、それでも南へ向かっている実感が湧いてくる。

ちなみに北緯40度を通る国は他にスペインのマドリード、アメリカのニューヨーク付近も北緯40度らしい。40度をぐるっと回ればそんな大都市も通ってまたここに戻ってくるのかな？少し不思議な気持ちになる。

これからゴールの波照間に向かうわけだが、波照間の北緯は24度。まだまだ先は長いけど歩きつづければきっと辿り着く。

ていうか日本は北緯45度から24度まであるのか…そう考えると改めて南北に長い国だと言うことがわかる。

北緯40度線を越えてすぐに

次の町、八郎潟町に入る。

遠くに対策だが八郎潟が見えた

広大な田園風景が広がる秋田の風景があった

そしてまたすぐに次の町、潟上市へ

こうもポンポン町が変わるのが、今まで北海道を歩き続けていた分。新鮮でしょうがない。

遠くに不思議な雲。

まるで竜巻みたいだ

調べてみたら男鹿半島の海で竜巻が発生していたらしい。こんなの初めて見た

そんな驚きもありながら、すぐまた次の町

秋田市に入る。

いよいよ秋田の県庁所在地だ

それにしても今日は暑い。

午前中で25キロほど歩いてきたが、午後になると暑すぎて休憩も兼ねてローソンの日陰に逃げ込む

日陰に一回逃げ込むとなかなか日向に動けなくなる日陰大好き病を発症していたら、優しいおばちゃんにチオビタドリンクを頂いた。

愛情一本頑張るかぁ、ってことで重い腰をあげて夏の中へ

歩き始めてすぐに「なんか見たことある野球部のユニフォームの色だなぁ」と思ったら、去年金足フィーバーを巻き起こした金農野球部が走り込みをしていた。

そういえばすぐそばは金足農業高校だ。

球児たちはこんなに暑い夏でも、汗かき走る

そんな姿を見て少し感動してしまうのは横石がおじさんに近づいたからなのだろうか…

でもやっぱり頑張ってる人を見ると元気をもらえる。横石も歩くぞぉ

この夏を終わらせにきた

空はすっかり夏の雲だ

今日が8月31日だということも知らずにまだまだ夏は終わらんぞと、いやいや、もう夢見る夏休みも終わりだぞと、雲に言われた気がした

小学生の時は毎年、8月がくると31日まで残り何日ってカウントダウンしてたっけな。

それくらい夏休みが終わってほしくなくて、一生続いてほしくて、虫あみを振り回しながら日が暮れるまで遊んでた。

毎年夏休みは1ヶ月長崎の親戚の家に行ってて、カレンダーが8月31日に近づくたびに、胸の奥の方がつままれたように切なくなってたんだよなぁ。

特に長崎はお盆にお祭りと精霊流しがあったんだけど、精霊流しが終わった後の夜の帰り道が異常に切なかった…精霊流しで魂が空に帰っていったのと同じように、夏休みまでどこかに飛んで行ってしまったような気がしていた。

「あぁ、東京帰らなきゃ」「宿題終わらせなきゃ」「まだまだ遊び足りないのに…」って

そして博多駅から東京行き、のぞみに乗り込む駅のホームで夏休みの思い出がフラッシュバックしてくる…

「あぁ、楽しかったな」

あれから15年くらい経つ今でも、夏休み前に毎日夏休みが楽しみで電話をかけていた長崎の電話番号はしっかり覚えているし、今後も忘れることはないと思う。そのくらい小学生の夏休みは特別だ。

でも今は8月31日を迎えてもあまり切なくならない。旅がまだまだ終わらないからっていうのもあるけど、それ以上にあれほど「夏休み」感を味わえるのはやっぱり小学生の時の夏休みだけだ。これだけは間違いない。

一生8月をカウントダウンしてられるような人生だったら良かったなぁ。入道雲を眺めてたら、少し切なくなった。

おおっと危ない、まだ旅が終わってないのに空の果てまで飛ばされたようなふわふわした気分になってた

気持ちを入れ直して残り10キロ歩かなきゃ

と思ったら目の前に旅仕様のリトルカブが止まった

どうやらこの人もカブの前にチャリダーをやっていたみたいで徒歩ダーにシンパシーを感じてくれたみたいだ。

しっかり差し入れもいただいてしまった

横石もライダーになったらチャリダーや徒歩ダーに差し入れしまくってこの恩を繋げていこうと思う

そして、秋田駅に到着

今日はここでタクマの大学の友達のお父さんにお世話になる。

単身赴任中だそうだ。

てことでこれから夜の秋田に繰り出して飲みだ

久しぶりに羽伸ばすぞぉ！！
