もみじ饅頭たべたひ（徒歩日本縦断#91）

91日目の今日は尾道の市街地にある尾道西公園で起床

夜はゆっくり寝れたが、朝は地元の人の散歩コースになってるみたいで不審がられないように早くにテントを片付けて挨拶を満面の笑みでかわして怪しい人じゃないですよアピールに精を出した。

そんな今日は出発直前までルートに悩む

それは尾道から広島市までのルートだ

赤の5キロ短くなるが山越えして東広島を経由するルートか

黒の海岸線を通って呉を経由するルートか

どちらのルートも野宿場所が少なくて悩んでいたが、「野宿場所が少ないんだったら距離短い方でいいや」くらいの気持ちで内陸ルートを選択。そして今日は東広島までの47キロを歩くことに。

47キロ歩くとなれば朝早く出なければいけないので、不審がられないためにテントを早く片付けたのが功を奏して、6時20分に歩き始める

この公園は高台の方にあるので、歩き始めると早速尾道水道を望むことが出来て朝からいい気分でスタートできた。

海沿いの国道2号に出るためにくねくねと続く坂道沿いの住宅街を抜けると、朝早い野球部の高校生が颯爽とチャリで通り抜けていく。

うちの高校もそうだったが、野球部は本当に朝は早いし夜は遅いしで大変だなぁ…（ゆるゆるバド部の横石。本気の尊敬）

そして国道2号に合流すると

のどかな朝の尾道水道がお出迎え

波一つない瀬戸内海の海にプカプカ浮かぶ小舟と対岸の向島が「The尾道」な風景を魅せてくれる。晴れた日の朝はこの時期は放射冷却で冷え込むが、その分空気が澄んで景色も綺麗だ

昇る朝日をたっぷり浴びながら進む。

出航している船が勇ましい

10キロほどはこんな瀬戸内海沿いの穏やかな道なので、朝からこころなしか身体も軽い。

三原市街に入るとそんな風景は一変して高い建物が立ち並ぶ都会に。ここから国道2号を離れて県道に入る

三原市街から10キロほどはよく整備された川沿いの県道で歩きやすいのだが

トラックがビュンビュン通っていく中、突然歩道が無くなってこの標識が出てくるのは本当に勘弁して欲しかった…

こういうのわかってるならもっと前もって看板出してもらわないと迂回できないでしょ！と一人でブツブツ文句を言いながら、10キロ進むと道は一気に山道の県道へと逸れる

登り道になるので体力は使うが、そんなことどうでもよくなるくらいに山が秋真っ盛りで一人盛り上がってしまう

赤く色づいたもみじが快晴の空に良く映える

自然のキャンパスとはよく言ったもので、この時期になると目に入るパステルカラーが何色にも増えていく。

小刻みなパリパリした音がする足元を見ると

大量のどんぐりころころ

22歳にもなってどんぐりふみふみしながらるんるんで山を歩く男がここにいます。（小さい頃どんぐり集めてたら中から幼虫出てきてヒョエーってなったのを今思い出した）

改めて山のルートを選んで正解だった気がする

秋真っ盛りの日本の四季を思いっきり感じながら歩けるなんて贅沢じゃん？

里山は秋が深まるとどこか優しい雰囲気を纏う

色とりどりに彩られた山々に、静かに鳴く虫たち。穏やかに晴れた空の下で、少しずつ冬に近づく準備をしているようだ

そんな心温まる田舎の風景を眺めながら、スタートから30キロほど歩いて山の頂上で

東広島市へ。ここから目的地の市街地まではまだまだ先が長い。あと17キロほどを歩いていく

太陽の落ち始めた空にふと目をやるとうろこ雲が…思わず秋刀魚を食べたくなるような、空まで秋色だ。

そしてふと「あれ？なんか嗅いだことある独特な匂いするぞ」と思って道の横を見ると

なんとすぐ真横に立派なツノの生えたヤギくん

どうやら嗅いだことある匂いの正体は、ジンギスカンのあの独特な臭みだった。

流石にこれに関しては「美味そう…」とはならなかったけど、ヤギがこんなに道の近くにいるのは北海道でもなかなかないし、どんだけのんびりしてんだ広島県。と突っ込まざるを得ない状況だ。

そんなのどかな広島を楽しんで、午後5時ちょうど、47キロ歩いて東広島市街に到着

都会の東広島市街で野宿をする場所が見つかるか不安だったが、なんと駅から500mしか離れていない閑静な住宅街の中の広い公園に東屋を見つけたので今日はここで寝ることに。穴場すぎて万歳三唱をした。心の中で。

そして靴を変え再スタートしてから3日目を終えたが、初日に不調をきたしていた足も通常通りとなってきている。まだ若干靴の硬さで足に疲労が残りやすかったりするが、ここまでくればもう安心だろう。よく耐えた横石！お前は偉い！褒めてつかわす俺！

広島県尾道市→東広島市
