パステルカラー（徒歩日本縦断#116）

昨日は夜中まで那覇のせんべろ街で飲みすぎて、ゲストハウスのベッドに入った途端に爆睡

朝も若干のアルコールが残る二日酔いの状況ではあったが、外は久しぶりの晴れ。

青空を見た瞬間身体のだるさも吹き飛んで、116日目は始まった

朝ごはんと昼ごはんは昨日ゆうこさんに持たせてもらった沖縄限定のおにぎりとパンで済ませられそうだ。朝の9時半に歩き出す

今日は南部の観光地を中心にぐるっと回るルートだ。距離にして33キロほどなのでのんびり青空を楽しみながら歩く

歩き始めてすぐ、那覇のほぼ中心地にデカすぎるガジュマルの木があったけど、ここは何かの聖地なんだろうか？ここだけ少し空気がひんやりしていた気がする

そしてまず向かったのは1ヶ月ほど前に焼け落ちてしまった世界遺産の首里城

日曜だということもあって人が多い

門をくぐると

石垣沿いに曲輪を登って行って頂上へ

焼け落ちしまった本殿を見ることはなかったが、やはり「琉球王国」という日本とは違う国の文化が育ててきたお城はどちらかというと中国の方のお城に近いような、そんな異国の雰囲気が漂っていた

そんな首里城は那覇市街を見下ろす丘の上に立っている

降るときは与那原方面を一望しながら

急坂を降りていくと

なぜか一部濡れていた路面に気づかずに派手に転倒。左膝からの流血が止まらない

旅が残り少なく、歩く距離も短めにしてる分油断があったのだろうか。受け身をとれたから良かったけどもこの旅1番の流血をしてしまった

急いで手ぬぐいで縛って止血をした後に持っている絆創膏を全部使って応急処置

しばらく足がジンと痛むが、無理せずゆっくりと歩く。

与那原市街を過ぎて南城市に入ると、まさに「ざわわ」と揺れるさとうきび畑広がる沖縄感溢れる風景へ

足の痛みも忘れて、久しぶりの青空と照りつける12月とは思えない日差しを楽しむ

まだ観光地化されていない。沖縄の原風景は流浪の旅人にとってなによりの観光地だ

そんな原風景をしばらく進んで、またもや登り道。亜熱帯の植物が広がって、蝶が飛び交う山の中を汗をかきながら進んでいき

目の前に突如広がった光景に息を呑む

桃源郷のような淡い青の世界

ループ橋はニライカナイ橋と言うらしい

ニライカナイは沖縄で信じられている海の彼方に存在する理想郷という意味

こんなにも美しい風景ならその言葉も納得だ

日本にはまだ沢山の彩り溢れるパステルカラーの世界がある。それは北でも南でも西でも東でも、色んな場所に転がっている。

もう随分とそんな世界を追いかけてきたけど、何度出会っても見飽きることはなく胸の鼓動は早くなる。

美しい蝶がひらひら舞って花にとまる

蒼天の差し色にはこれ以上ない鮮やかさだ

トンネルを抜けると夏が忘れ物をしていた

あぁ、幸せだなぁ

別に何もなくていい

この瞬間があればいい

時が止まるような錯覚の、この瞬間を見逃さないように、手を伸ばして青を掴もうとする

掴めない。掴めそうで絶対に掴むことができない。だからこそ追いかけ続ける価値がある。いつまでもこんな一瞬の風景を求め続けたい。旅人としてこんなに幸せな瞬間他にない。

そして蒼の世界から神の領域へ

更なる聖域に向かう

神に祈りを捧げた場所「御嶽（うたき）」

その中でも一般公開されている貴重な場所であり世界遺産の「斎場御嶽（せいふぁうたき）」へ

どこか空気の流れが早い森の中を歩いていくと

信仰の舞台となった巨大な岩と祭壇が現れる

人々の祈りが集まる場所であり、今なおその祈りは続いている場所

神聖な空気というのもなんとなくわかるものだ

あくまで思い込みでそう感じているだけかもしれないが、思い込みこそが祈りや祭事の最も根幹にある気がするのでこの感覚は間違っていないはず。

神は実際にいるかどうかは分からない。けれどいると思い込む力は祈りとなり、人々の心の支えになる。それは人の力の源になるのだと思う。こういう場所に来て祈りの数々を見ていると思わず自分祈りたくなるから不思議だ

岩の隙間をくぐり抜け、広がる青い海は先ほどとは少し違った目線で見ることができた

神の島久高島にも行きたかったなぁ。今回は宿を取れなくて行けなかったけど、次に沖縄に来たら必ず訪れよう（流石に神の島で野宿という無粋なことはしません）

そして斎場御嶽を出て、気づけば4時前。

様々なところで立ち止まって、沖縄を満喫していたおかげで随分と遅くはなったが心は充実感で満たされて、夕日に向かって残り9キロの道のりを進む

やっぱり沖縄は晴れに限るね。

あの雨の日もあるからこそ、青空と太陽の有り難みを身に染みて感じる。

そして今日お世話になるゲストハウスへ

これまた雰囲気のいい南国のゲストハウスでゆったりお酒でも飲みながらいい気分に浸ろうかなぁ
