そろそろ何日目かわからなくなって来た

多分23日目のこの日は博多のネットカフェからスタート。

ひたすら西へ、親戚の家がある長崎は佐世保に向かって走る

23日目の道のり

福岡から長崎に向かうには国道202号今宿バイパスを通れというマップの指示通りに最短の道である今宿バイパスを走り始めた

しかし、この今宿バイパスがまた「自転車侵入禁止」ではないくせに、ほぼ「自転車侵入禁止」みたいなバイパスだった

その異変は走り始めてしばらくしてから起こる。

トラックなどの大型車両がビュンビュン飛ばしていくくせに、路肩が狭くなっていく

気付けば路肩は無くなっていて、トラックがヨコイシのことを追い抜くことができない状況に

しかも一車線しか無いから、追い抜けないと渋滞してしまう

2016年8月23日の午前中に今宿バイパスで渋滞情報が流れていたら、それは事故渋滞でも混雑渋滞でもなく、ただのヨコイシ待ち渋滞だった

クラクションも聞こえてくる中、さすがにこの状況で走り続けられるほど無神経では無かったから、猛ダッシュで最寄りのインターチェンジまで行って後ろを振り返ること無くバイパスを降りる（本当にみなさんごめんなさい）

なかなかメンタルが削られたけど、バイパスを降りてからの道のりは風光明媚で素敵な道のりだった

広がる青い海沿いを走る道のり

ここは福岡県の糸島市というところで、海が青くて有名なところだったらしい

バイパスに比べれば遠回りだけど、急がば回れとはこのことだなぁと実感する

ゆっくり行けばいくほど見えてくる景色もあるんだなぁと。

久しぶりに透き通った海を見たよ

四国ぶりかな

玄界灘の美しい風景を眺めながらのんびり進むと、いよいよ佐賀県だ

佐賀県は唐津市に入ると道は内陸ののどかな田舎道に逸れる

唐津→伊万里と来ると佐世保はすぐそこだった

そしていよいよ

佐世保に辿り着く

佐世保の田舎町 江永というところがヨコイシの第二の故郷だ

ヨコイシが小学生の頃、両親が共働きの中で日頃の世話をしてくれたのは、埼玉の実家で一緒に住んでいた、今は亡き祖母だった

祖母はヨコイシが夏休みになると、毎年1ヶ月、自分のふるさとで、兄弟たちが住んでいる佐世保にヨコイシと姉を連れていってくれた

佐世保では、祖母の兄弟を「おじちゃんおばちゃん」と慕ったり、又従兄弟のみんなと仲良く遊びながら、リアルぼくのなつやすみをして1ヶ月間遊びつくした

虫取りも魚とりも、花の名前も、人との付き合い方も。大切なことは全部ここ佐世保で学んだ

祖母は亡くなってしまったけど、未だに元気なおじちゃんおばちゃんや沢山の素敵な人たちに会いに、埼玉から自転車で来た

「どんな顔して迎えてくれるかな」なんて思いつつ、いざ江永の家へ

10年前、ヨコイシが小学生の頃に比べて、またさらに親戚の子供達は増えていた。笑

みんなでピザを作りつつ、休む間も無く「ヨウダイ兄ちゃんが鬼ね！」なんてタッチされて鬼ごっこさせられたり、江永中の懐かしい場所に遊びに連れていかされた

虫取り、魚とり、鬼ごっこ…

都会の遊び方はゲームなどめまぐるしく変化していくけど、ここの遊び方は10年前となんら変わらず自然が相手だった

なんなら60年前だって変わっていないだろう

「ヨウダイ兄ちゃん」と呼ばれて袖を引っ張られる立場になったことを少し感慨深く思いながらも、昔と少しも変わっていないふるさとの風景を眺めた

山へ続く坂道

毎日のように遊んだ清流

集落を見渡せるダムの上

走り回った道

木漏れ日の下の涼み

何も変わらない風景だけど、昔感じた感覚より少し小さく見えた

例えば昔通っていた小学校のグランドに久しぶりに行くと小さく見えてしまうあの感覚

俺は大人になっちゃったんだろうか

少し切ない気持ちになる

変わったのはヨコイシの伸びた背丈と

少し小さくなったおじちゃん達の背中だった

少し寂しい気持ちになって、チビ達を抱き上げて肩車をしてみた
